Biting Defence - Coach the Snakebite Defence!

The Snakebite Defence is a sharp and decisive pincer movement, designed to put pressure on the opposition's player and looks to get your players making incisive interceptions.

When your players are stood behind an attacking player it can often be difficult to get around them before the attacker's gained possession, however the snakebite's strong point is that it uses fast feet and sharp darting running to sneak around the corner and snatch away the ball.

When you next talk about the snakebite defence your players will immediately remember this venomous move that is sure to poison the opposition's attack. It's fast, it's effective and it's a sure fire way for your team to rustle through the grass and strike to win possession and turn defence into offence!

Netball Conditioning - Performing when tired

Players should never be stood still! They should always be moving, jogging from one side of the court to the other, always prepared to sprint onto the ball when the opportunity arises.

To ensure your players have a high enough level of fitness - making sure they've got enough mileage in their legs to see them through the full-four quarters we've designed this high-intensity interval training session for you to use with your players.

Not only will this session be interesting for you, it'll also be interesting for your players, as you both get the chance to witness how fit your team really are and how tired legs can affect their ability to perform skills such as passing and shooting!

Feed the Shooting Circle and improve your players' stamina

This week we've got another two sessions for you and your team - an attacking session designed to improve service to the circle and a BONUS fitness session, working on your players' stamina levels! Read on to learn more!

Successfully feeding the shooting circle

This first of this week's sessions works on giving your shooting players the service they deserve, improving the movement of all seven players on the court and balancing the shooting circle

To ensure the ball is being fed to your players in the shooting circle we begin with a fun warm-up game of netball tag to get your players passing and moving from the word "Go".

From this point it's then time to think about progressing the ball up the court, to get this across to your team they'll need to pass 10 times before being allowed to shoot, but the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack will need to stay on opposite sides of the circle to ensure they're offering two different passing options as well as balancing the circle.

Netball Conditioning - Passing Movement

Make sure your players give their all throughout the game, right through until the end of the final quarter with this week's bonus fitness session!

This session works on your players' stamina - in a series of drills and games which will see them continuously moving around the court with a passing theme, as they look for space to receive the ball.

Bumper Start to 2012 - Fitness Conditioning and Passing on the move Sessions

It's back to the training court this week, so to ensure you start as you mean to go on this week we've got two great sessions for you - a catching and passing on the move PLUS a Change of Direction conditioning session! Read on to learn more!

Catching and Passing on the Move

The key to a good pass into space is to avoid breaking your team-mate's stride - you want to time the pass so that it doesn't slow the continuity of the move and reaches the player at the end of their run.

To make sure your players are timing their passes to perfection this welcome back session works on losing your marker, finding space and making the pass into an empty area of the court. Starting with an energetic pairs passing and receiving warm-up and building up to the fun final conditioned game of Hoop Ball.

Netball Conditioning - Change of Direction

After the break what better way to welcome back your team than with this Change of Direction Fitness session, full of drills which you can quickly and easily incorporate into your pre-match routine or existing trainings - designed to get your players bursting from the blocks and turning on a sixpence!
